Cowabunga Dude!
This is my new favorite cake. I was so excited about the theme when I received this order, and knew immediately what I would do. The bottom tier is vanilla cake, and the top is chocolate. The cake is covered in homemade marshmallow fondant, and the accents and characters are also fondant. The birthday boy loved it! Happy birthday Brody!

Lego Mania!
I have had several Lego themed orders lately. I don't know why they all hit at once, and why I had never done them before, but I loved how everything turned out! The cookies and cupcakes were for a kid's party, and the cake was actually a groom's cake for a wedding. Loved the contrast of the fun Lego cake with the elegant bride's cake. (Pictures of that cake coming soon).

It's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!
This cake was made for a "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" movie themed party. The cake is one tier chocolate, one tier vanilla, and the meatball on top is also vanilla cake. All of the accents are made from homemade marshmallow fondant, with a little bit of buttercream thrown in for the clouds and hamburger condiments and lettuce. I hope everyone enjoyed this cake, because it was a fun one to make! Happy birthday Connor!

Percy Jackson Cake
This cake was inspired by a picture sent to me by my client. I knew when I saw the picture that I could make the cake even better. The top is made to look like the shield Percy carried in the movie, "The Lightning Thief", and is completely edible, made from cake, fondant, and royal icing, airbrushed with gold edible paint. The cake is a 10 inch chocolate cake with buttercream icing. The elements on the board are also made from fondant. The client was thrilled with the cake, and I was very happy with how it turned out.
The Rhinoceros Cake
The request for this theme is not one that you get very often, but I had so much fun making this cake! I love the little rhino on top. I really wanted to keep him and put him on my desk. He makes me smile. This cake was for a first birthday for a little boy with the nickname of "Rhino", and it's a 6 inch and 5 inch super mini tiered cake. I loved making this cake.

A Sock Monkey First Birthday Party
This was one of my orders for this weekend...a plethora or sock monkey themed goodies. The tiered cake is chocolate with chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream, and homemade marshmallow fondant. The smash cake is chocolate with buttercream, and the cupcakes are vanilla bean with sugar cookie toppers. Happy birthday Hudson!

Andrew's Texas Rangers Cake
My son Andrew's birthday is in December, but we usually wait to have his party in the summertime, since we are usually traveling for Christmas on his actual birthday. This year, he requested a baseball party. At first, he wanted a Texas Tech cake, but then after seeing all the cute Texas Rangers party stuff at the party store, he changed his mind. He was responsible for the design of this cake...I just had to execute it. :) I was really happy with how the cake turned out. It was definitely a hit with all the party attendees (no pun intended). The cake itself is covered in buttercream, and the hat and ball are covered in fondant. The hat is cake also (excluding the brim, which is also fondant). The cake is vanilla flavor.

Brother and Sister Joint Birthday Party Cakes
These cakes are for a brother and sister's joint birthday party. I was pretty worried about the lego cake, though I don't really know why. Maybe it was the character on top...I couldn't quite figure out how to make it. As you can see, I got it figured out. :) I was really happy with how these two cakes turned out. I hope they like them! Happy birthday Alexa and Julian!

Cake Pops
I have had several requests lately for cake pops in University of Texas colors. Some were for a college graduation, and some for a birthday party with a football theme. The mom of the birthday boy wanted pom pom cake pops for the girls attending the party...I would have never thought of doing this, but they turned out to be super cute!

The Cheeto Cake
This cake was made for a youth pastor's 30th birthday. He has a puppet named "Cheeto" that he uses in his ministry, and he has had the puppet since he was a child. Cheeto had to be incorporated into the cake somehow, and this is what I came up with. Definitely a very special 30th birthday cake, and he loved it!

My youngest son was star of the week at school this week, so I sent some special star of the week cupcakes to his class to celebrate!

Laser Tag Cake
I don't know much about laser tag, so I had a hard time deciding what to do when I received this order. I think the cake was really great, though, and it turns out the birthday boy's favorite color is green. Happy accident!
Football Cake
I received an order from a client for an awesome cake...I love it when clients give me free reign and order tiered cakes. I love to do any kind of cake, but these are my favorite. They just feel so special, compared to a typical sheet cake. The football helmet was made from rice krispy treats, and was kind of a booger to make. I hand-painted it with food coloring, but next time, I think airbrushing will be a better option. I had a hard time getting an even finish with the food coloring, and it took forever to dry. Also, the face mask tried to sag a little bit on top. This was my first attempt at making a football helmet anyway, so I think it turned out really good, considering, and the client loved the cake. Everyone else loved it to, I guess, because I already have an order for an exact replica of this cake next month!

Redeemer Lutheran School Gala
I was lucky enough to be asked to provide the desserts for this year's Redeemer Lutheran School Gala. The theme was "Boots, Blue Jeans, and Bling" so I decided to do western themed cookies and cake pops. It was a big task, because I had to make 250 of each, but I think they turned out great and everyone seemed to love them. The horse head cake pops are my favorite, I think.
