Welcome Baby Ellis!

A client of mine was expecting a baby, and wanted cookies to take to the hospital to share with her family, friends, and doctors and nurses. I thought it was such a neat idea to do that! Congratulations to the Ashwood family in welcoming baby Ellis into the world!

Baseball Cookies

It was my turn to bring snacks for my son's baseball team, so of course I had to make them some personalized baseball cookies!

It's a Boy!

I was asked by some very good friends of mine to make a cake and cookies for their gender reveal party. They are big Texas Tech fans, (as am I) and they asked that I make the treats in a Texas Tech theme...football helmets for a boy, and megaphones for a girl. If the baby was a boy, they wanted chocolate filling in their cake, and if it was a girl, strawberry filling. It was very exciting to be the first one to know the gender of their baby, but it was so hard to keep the secret! They were thrilled to find out that their baby will be a boy...baby Owen. Congratulations Maggie and Ryan! I am so thrilled for you guys!

Austin Fairy Godmother Desserts

Austin Fairy Godmother is a fantastic organization that provides formal dresses for special events for young girls, without the burden of expense. They have shopping parties, diva days, and primping parties to help these young ladies get ready for their event in style! I am so happy to be able to contribute to this fantastic organization. It's really a great cause. These cookies and cupcakes were for the prom shopping party for the Austin School for the Deaf. Be sure to check out Austin Fairy Godmother on Facebook or visit their website to get more information about all the great things they do for the community, and see how you can help!

1200 cookies...

The principal at my kids' school is retiring, after 40 years. We are all so sad to see him go. We've only been at Redeemer Lutheran for a year, but it has been the biggest blessing for my family and my kids. It is the best school! Today's church service was all about celebrating Mr. Kieschnick, and his years of service. They had a huge barbecue lunch after church, and I was asked to provide the dessert. 1200 cookies! It was definitely an undertaking, but I was so honored to be asked to contribute to the celebration. I baked 300 cookies per day over 4 days, and it took 9 bakery boxes to hold them all. I was worried that they were going to get broken or smooshed in delivery, but they all looked great today and they tasted great too. Huge sigh of relief. Best wishes Mr. Kieschnick! We will miss you!

Redeemer Lutheran School Gala

I was lucky enough to be asked to provide the desserts for this year's Redeemer Lutheran School Gala. The theme was "Boots, Blue Jeans, and Bling" so I decided to do western themed cookies and cake pops. It was a big task, because I had to make 250 of each, but I think they turned out great and everyone seemed to love them. The horse head cake pops are my favorite, I think.

I Mustache You a Question...

These cupcakes with mustache cookie toppers were for a Boy Scouts event where the guest of honor is known for his mustache. I've been eyeing some mustache cookie cutters for a while, and this order gave me an excuse to buy them. The cutters are for regular sized cookies, so the toppers are larger than a typical cupcake topper, but I love the effect of the large mustache over the smaller cupcake. Everyone at the event seemed to love them!

Teacher Appreciation Cookies

Teachers are grossly underpaid and under appreciated, in my book. I love it when I get the chance to do little things for them to let them know how special they are to us. This week is teacher appreciation week at my kids' school, so I decided to make some cookies for the teacher appreciation luncheon and some extra little treats for my kids' individual teachers. These little fruit cookies turned out really cute, I think...especially the strawberries. How cute would these be on top of a cupcake? I found the darling little ceramic berry baskets at Michael's while shopping for supplies yesterday, and those sparked the idea for the "berry best teacher" baskets. I wish I would have picked up a basket for myself. I don't know what I would use it for, but you can never have too many receptacles for "stuff", in my opinion, especially when they are this adorable! :) (Sorry for the crappy cell phone pictures in this post...it was REALLY late at night when I finished these, and I was tired and out of good light for picture taking. These had to be delivered early this morning.)

The gift tags on the apple cookies say "It Takes a Big Heart to Shape Little Minds". I didn't create the graphic. I found it online as a free download and created a printable to make the tags with the saying on the front and my business card graphic on the back.

Valentine Party Cookies

Both of my kids wanted cookies for their Valentines this year. It was a challenge to get them all done in addition to my other orders, but I aim to please...SO...Andrew requested conversation hearts and Matthew didn't really care. I came up with the "Valentine, you are out of this world" idea because I really wanted to use my new rocket and UFO cookie cutters. I love, love, love the way the UFO turned out with the little Valentine alien. I am going to put very cute Valentine bag toppers on the individually bagged cookies, but my printer went kaput, so I had to send them to a printer to be picked up later today. Lots of work, but I enjoy it and it makes my boys happy. Andrew told me that it was pretty cool that I am the "cookie lady". He used to think I was cool because I was a lawyer with a pretty cool job. I'll settle for cool cookie lady and time with my boys any day. :)

Gamer Valentine Gift Box

I had a special request for a Valentine gift box for a video game loving guy. This one was really fun to do! The recipient works with computers as well, so I had to incorporate a little bit of that too, with some subtle Valentine's Day touches. He'll receive his gift box on Valentine's Day. I hope he enjoys it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Valentine's Day Cookie Gift Boxes

Cookie gift boxes are the perfect gift for your sweetheart this Valentine's Day...way more exciting than a store-bought box of candy! Gift boxes come in traditional, "owl always love you", "bee mine", "love bugs", and "frogs and kisses". Each box is packaged in a gift box with a cute coordinating ribbon and sticker. They can be customized too. I've got an order for a Valentine's Day box for a video game loving guy. Should be cute! I will post pictures when I get that one done. In the meantime, if you haven't thought about a gift for that someone in your life this Valentine's Day, call or email me to order yours. It's less than a week away!

Home Depot Tool Cookies

My husband works for Home Depot, so I had to make him a couple of sets of tool cookies to take to his bosses in Atlanta. It was cookie-palooza around here this weekend, so I was only able to grab a quick snapshot of the cookies with my phone before we headed out to a birthday party and then a Super Bowl party. Sorry about the poor quality of the picture, but I thought these were too cute not to share. It was a good weekend. All orders got done, and the Mythbusters birthday cake made it to the party in one piece. I was stressing about the delivery! Everyone at the party seemed to like it too, so that was a bonus!

Thumbprint Cookies

Thumbprint cookies are soft, shortbread-like cookies that have the perfect amount of sweetness. These make a great baby or wedding shower dessert, and the icing colors can be customized to fit any theme or occasion. If I had to choose any cookie, I'd have to say these are my favorite.

Football Cookies!

The Super Bowl is coming up, and there's one more game until we find out who's going to be in the "big show". We like the Atlanta Falcons around here, so I decided I would make some Falcons inspired cookies for good luck. These cookies would be great for a Super Bowl party, or a birthday party, or just a general "get your friends together to watch football" party! I was really happy with how they turned out. And if you're going to have a cookie, might as well have a cupcake with a cute football topper too. :)

The Deconstructed Christmas Collection

The deconstructed Christmas collection that started it all! I know Christmas is already over, but new collections are coming soon for Valentine's Day, Easter, Mother's Day and Father's Day. I made these gift boxes for all the wonderful teachers at my kids' school and they were a huge hit! These make great gifts for teachers, kids and friends. It's never too early to start thinking about gifts for upcoming holidays, and nothing makes people happier than cute cookies!
